Finding The Absolute Truth When Navigating Life’s Unknowns, Varying Opinions, and Fake News.

Remember the adage, “Looking for love in all the wrong places”? Well, that phrase fits perfectly in today’s world when it comes to seeking absolute truth. Think about it. We’re all searching for truth. We spend countless hours scouring the internet for information and tips on getting a job, getting in shape, or losing weight. By doing so, we’re seeking answers—some form of truth. Today, everyone seems to loudly proclaim their truth, quickly labeling someone else’s truth as “fake news” at a moment’s notice.

But what if we’re seeking The Absolute Truth to understand who they are, how they should live, or what is morally right or wrong? What is Absolute Truth, and where do we find it?

Absolute Truth is an objective, universal, and constant statement that holds true for all people at all times. Discerning what is true and what isn’t can be challenging in a world filled with opinions and varied beliefs. People often seek validation from others to justify their truth, even when it may not align with reality.

So, what do we do? Where do we turn to find The Absolute Truth?

As Christians, we turn to the source of all truth—the Bible—to guide us in understanding absolute truth. God’s Word is the Absolute Truth. According to 2 Timothy 3:16-17, the Bible is God-breathed or inspired through the Holy Spirit. It is the ultimate authority on all matters because it is not subjective or changeable; it remains constant and applies to all people, regardless of their circumstances.

Moreover, the Bible is Absolute Authority because it reflects God Himself; it is trustworthy because it originates from Him. His Word reveals His attributes, giving us insight into His character, goodness, and mercy. It guides us through life’s challenges, offering unwavering truth and perfection. As 2 Corinthians 1:20 states, “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen.” Furthermore, Deuteronomy 32:3-4 emphasizes God’s faithfulness and trustworthiness, describing Him as the Rock, perfect in all His works and just in all His ways.

Reflecting on these truths, here are three key takeaways:

• We can trust the Lord because of His goodness and greatness.

• We can trust the Lord because His ways and works are perfectly aligned.

• We can trust the Lord because of His unwavering character and conduct.

These truths provide a solid foundation for our faith, guiding us through life’s complexities. By meditating on God’s eternal nature and sovereignty, we find comfort and security in knowing that we can find The Absolute Truth in Him and His Word, which never changes and is beneficial for all people in all circumstances.

As Difference Makers, to better influence and serve our community, city, county, country, and even church, we need to know the truth—not someone else’s truth or our own truth, but God’s Truth, which is the Absolute Truth. Why? Because it is objective, universal, and constant for all people at all times.

Let us continue to tap into Scripture’s timeless wisdom and allow it to shape our understanding of God’s Absolute Truth. When we do, we can be confident that the Word of God will give us the wisdom to overcome life’s challenges, break free from sin and bondage, and deepen our relationship with our unchanging, trustworthy, loving, and merciful God.
