Have you ever had someone steal something from you? Maybe it was your identity online, your car, or even your peace of mind. A thief takes what doesn’t belong to them, serving their own selfish gain at your expense.
As Christians, Jesus made it clear in His Word that we have a number one enemy: Satan. He is a thief, and his main objective is to steal from the children of God. John 10:10 paints a striking comparison: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Satan’s mission is to rob us of everything Jesus died to secure: love, joy, peace, purpose, and eternal life. He works overtime to consume our destinies, derail our dreams, and destroy our lives. His ultimate goal is to prevent us from fulfilling our God-given purpose and spending eternity with Jesus.
As Kingdom Revolutionists in 2025, we must commit to living with a Kingdom perspective — one that recognizes who we are in Christ, understands the enemy’s tactics, and remembers that our lives have divine purpose. At the start of the year, it’s tempting to focus on fulfilling resolutions like getting in shape, advancing our careers, improving our finances, or losing weight. While these goals are worthwhile and can reflect good stewardship of our lives, they pale in comparison to the abundant life Jesus offers. True fulfillment is not found in fleeting achievements but in a life anchored in Christ. Our lives are not our own; we were bought with a price. This year, let’s prioritize the eternal as we trust God to guide us in the temporal.
Here are three Kingdom perspectives to help you start off the new year strong:
Kingdom Perspective #1: The thief doesn’t have your best interests in mind.
Satan disguises his plans to steal, kill, and destroy. Sin often appears alluring, distractions seem harmless, and detours feel like it’s no big deal. Yet, these are his tools to keep you from God’s plan for your life. In 2025, learn to stay alert to the enemy’s tactics. Ephesians 6:11 reminds us: “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”
Kingdom Perspective #2: Jesus has your best interests in mind.
Jesus promises life to the fullest. Psalm 23 declares: “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.” When trials come, His presence is our refuge. His goodness and mercy follow us, guiding us in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Kingdom Perspective #3: An abundant life is more than material blessings.
Abundant life is not about wealth, success, or possessions. It is about experiencing the richness of God’s presence. Galatians 5:22-23 says: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
So, here’s the bottom line: This year, prioritize choosing the abundant life over your new year’s resolutions. Make time for spending time in prayer, reading the Bible, serving others, giving financially to support your local church, and share the Gospel with others.
As we embrace 2025, let’s fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Recognize the enemy’s tactics, lean into God’s promises, and pursue the abundant life that comes from walking closely with Him. Together, let’s be Kingdom Revolutionists, making an eternal impact for Christ that is evident in everything we say and do.
