Unlocking Life’s Extraordinary Potential: Meet Your Guide, the Holy Spirit!

Have you ever felt stuck in an ordinary, mundane existence, with your life lacking meaning and purpose? In a world that often glorifies the extraordinary — talented, beautiful, and intelligent — it can be difficult to believe that God can use ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary feats for His Glory. Yet, He does so consistently when we allow ourselves to be led by His Spirit.

The Bible is filled with ordinary people like you and me, whom the Lord used mightily throughout the ages. David was a shepherd boy who became the King of Israel. Moses was a stutterer and murderer, but God used Him as an exceptional leader to bring His people out of slavery. Rahab was a prostitute, but God used her to bring His people into the Promised Land, and she is in the lineage of Jesus. These are just a few examples of ordinary people who were in the eyes of the world, but who God used mightily to do extraordinary things for His purpose.

When we struggle in life as believers, it’s because we often fail to understand who the Holy Spirit is and the role He plays in our lives. Here's the bottom line: The Holy Spirit is God — co-equal with God the Father and God the Son. (Acts 5:3-4) The Holy Spirit is not an "it" but a Person. (John 6:63) He is Holy and plays a distinct role as the third person of the Trinity. (John 14:26)

Are you ready to live the "Difference Maker" life God designed for you, packed with divine-appointed potential? Then it's time to get re-introduced to your guide and power source — The Holy Spirit!

Here are a few attributes of the Holy Spirit to understand Him better.

1. He speaks to us and is present all the time. (Acts 1:16)

2. He searches the mind of God and knows all things. (1 Corinthians 2:11)

3. He gives unique gifts to believers for the goodness of all humanity. (1 Corinthians 1:7-11)

4. He can be grieved, tested, and resisted. (Isaiah 63:10, Acts 5:9, Acts 7:5)

5. He helps us have a relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord. (1 Corinthians 1:13)

6. He pours out His Spirit on all people. (Joel 2:28-29)

Now, in a world where age, gender, and social status often dictate who gets a shot at making a difference, the Holy Spirit flips the script. The Holy Spirit doesn't show partiality. He doesn't care if you're young or old, rich or poor, male or female. He doesn't play favorites based on where you're from or what you've done.

Think of the Holy Spirit as your best friend and ally. He is a superpower living inside you at work, making you more like Jesus. He's the one who helps you to pray. He's the one who appoints you to a specific vocation or task. So if you don't know what God has called you to do, ask Him. The Holy Spirit gives you spiritual gifts and empowers you for service. He takes your natural abilities and improves them so you can do exceptional tasks for God's purpose. He helps you to pray and leads you into all truths, so you don't listen to Satan's lies.

You've been called to be extraordinary. Remember, there is absolutely no time stamp for God to use you. Your life will dramatically change when you rely on the Holy Spirit's help, wisdom, and guidance. Living a Spirit-filled life is both inclusive and exclusive. It's inclusive because God doesn't play favorites. God's favor rests on everyone, male or female. But it's exclusive because Jesus is the only way to access the Holy Spirit and live the life God has called you to live. While the Lord never promises us that our lives will be easy, we can trust that with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can become who God wants us to be and fulfill His plan for our lives.

Start cultivating a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Learn to listen to His voice - that nudge, whisper, or gut feeling urging you to do something or go somewhere. That's the Holy Spirit at work. He's like a personal coach, training you to fulfill God's assignment for you on this earth. With the Holy Spirit living inside of you, you're capable of more than you could ever imagine. Without Him, you are powerless, and unable to overcome life’s challenges, chaos, crises, and conflicts.

So, here's the challenge to start living an extraordinary life in Christ today. Ditch the ordinary and unleash the extraordinary with the Holy Spirit living inside you and your life will never be the same.
