Your Kingdom Come: Living Out Matthew 6:10

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” – Matthew 6:10

In today’s world, people long for change, searching for leadership that can restore hope and direction. Throughout history, nations have sought leaders to bring stability, prosperity, and transformation. However, as believers, we understand that true and lasting change comes not from human leadership alone, but from a leader and kingdom far greater than this world.

Over two thousand years ago, the Jewish people longed for a Messiah to free them from Roman oppression. They hoped He would restore Jerusalem’s political power. Yet, when Jesus came, they didn’t recognize Him for who He was because His revolution wasn’t about political dominance, but about spiritual and ethical transformation. His call was greater — He was called by His Father to start a New Kingdom Revolution under His leadership and authority that would free, save, and redeem, both Jews and Gentiles for His Glory.

Kingdom Perspective #1: Kingdom Revolutionists Deeply Desire Divine Dominion.

“Your kingdom come.” As believers, we must learn to pray for God’s Kingdom to be revealed here on earth. This manifestation occurs through The Church — the Body of Christ — when we invite Jesus into our hearts to rule and reign over every aspect of our lives. As Christ is reflected in us, the world will come to recognize “the light of the world,” which is Jesus living within us. Before Jesus’ Kingdom can be made evident in the world, it must first be reflected in The Church first so they will come to know the God we serve.

Kingdom Perspective #2: Kingdom Revolutionists Align Their Hearts with Heaven’s Agenda.

“Your will be done.” Jesus wasn’t looking to overthrow the Roman government over two thousand years ago; He was calling people to submit to the will of His Father. Jesus wants us to surrender our values, virtues, and views to align with God’s agenda rather than our own. When we do this, we become active participants in His divine plan.

Kingdom Perspective #3: Kingdom Revolutionists Constantly and Completely Want God’s Kingdom on Earth.

“On earth as it is in heaven.” God’s kingdom is already in operation in heaven. Jesus calls us to bring that same heavenly order here. As such, this isn’t just a prayer — it’s a mission!  As believers, we must embody God’s love, justice, and righteousness daily, ensuring His presence is evident in our communities.

The Bottom Line

Kingdom Revolutionists must have a Kingdom Mindset. When we pray, “Your kingdom come,” we are asking Jesus to make a revolutionary change in our lives that reflects God’s rule.

Here are three takeaways to help you further Jesus’ Kingdom here on earth:

1. Desire God’s Kingdom First – His will over ours.

2. Align with God’s Agenda – Seek His guidance in all decisions.

3. Be a Kingdom Representative – Live out faith boldly.

Today’s challenge is to write down one area of your life you want to align with God’s will, advancing His Kingdom here on earth. Pray and invite His rule into that space, trusting that transformation begins with surrender.

Jesus’ revolution is still ongoing, and we are His revolutionists. So, let’s bring heaven to earth  — one surrendered life at a time.
